Evergreen Photographer ~ Snowflakes

Evergreen Photographer

Have you ever wondered how we got the idea to make snowflakes of out paper? I remember doing this as a kid but never really saw what a  real snowflake actually looked like up close until until recently. I remember trying to make as many different snowflake shapes as possible in school. This year I have seen several amazing snowflake images floating around on Facebook and couldn’t wait to capture one of my own.

Recently I got a new macro lens and when it snowed in Evergreen I was so excited to test out the new lens. I was over joyed with the beautiful snowflakes I captured. It is so hard to see the detail of snowflakes with the human eye but get a magnifying glass and look at the detail. Usually when it is the first snow storm of the season everyone is so excited pictures are floating all over the social media sites. I just love waking up to a crisp morning, the beauty of the freshly fallen snow on the pine trees with the sun kissing the tops of the Rocky Mountains.

We get so busy with our every day to day lives, every now and then we should just stop breath in the fresh air and look around us at the beautiful world we live in.  All around us are amazing little gifts God created for us to enjoy, from the snowflakes in the winter to the beautiful flowers in the spring. From the majestic elk and other wildlife to the beautify sounds for the birds chirping on a new spring morning.

As I know we are due for a few more snow storms in Colorado I know so many of us are ready for spring, stop for just a second next time it snows and look towards the mountains and see what a really beautiful state we live in. Enjoy the snowflakes, I know I will and probably will be outside trying to capture more images of the many different shapes and sizes that fall from the sky.
